About Us

The Africa Economic Development Hub (AEDH), a Hub within the Strathmore University Business School driving Africa’s economic transformation, with a mission is to serve society by developing leadership that will transform Africa’s integrated economy, through applied research, enterprise support and innovation, trade policy engagement, and inclusive social development.

The Hub plays a catalytic role in translating research into market-ready solutions and policy reform. AEDH is primarily engaged in designing and delivering high-impact capacity-building programs, research initiatives, and engagement in strategic partnerships to strengthen the competitiveness, and sustainability and resilience of small and medium-size enterprises (MSME’s) in Africa.

AEDH Pillars

The Hub is structured around four core pillars:

Pillar 1

Trade, Cooperative Development & Business Membership Organizations

Pillar 2

Youth and Manufacturing

Pillar 3

Transformation & Resilience by the Private Sector

Pillar 4

Grants and Resource Management

These pillars collectively emphasize entrepreneurship support and systems change, high-quality skills training, strong employer linkages, government ownership, all underpinned by comprehensive green skills and climate integration.

Leveraging this foundation, AEDH seeks to drive employability, enterprise development, and sustainable economic transformation across Africa through an integrated framework that brings together market-responsive skills development, strategic private sector engagement, collaborative government partnerships, entrepreneurship promotion, and systemic reform.

The ultimate goal is to build ecosystems that support scalable and sustainable growth for shared prosperity in Africa.

Our Vision
